Check before you come to make sure this museum is open. The kids really enjoyed the wax museum and all were creeped out by the wax figures. Don't expect Madame Tussaud's, I don't think anything has changed here since I visited it 25+ years ago as a child. However, the winding tour through the ramshackle house, along with its vintage... Went through the museum last summer for the first time. I think it was around 7 or 9 dollars per person. Took about 10 minutes to walk through. Some of the buttons that you push at each wax display did not work. The wax figures could use some care and work. Over all the museum has seen better days. The... More

I used to think wax museums were corny, but this one is educational; our teenage son really liked it. It was a palatable way to ingest some history!

This wax museum has a very dated feel to it. While it is inexpensive, we didn't feel it was worth the minimal entry fee or our time. The museum consists of wax depictions of various scenes from John Brown's life. You walk between them through dark halls and up and down stairways. There are placards that give some information about... More

The wax museum sits a block from the NPS John Brown museum. This museum is stuffy. Some of the exhibits have audio. Others don't. Some audio is audible. Some sounds like the speaker is talking into a mason jar. This is not even worth the klitch value. Skip it.

Why should you pay $6 to visit a wax museum when you can donate $4 to the National Park Service and see the entire history? The Park Service offers an extraordinary museum and display of John Brown and all the characters of Harpers Ferry, and it’s just down the street in the Harpers Ferry National Historical Park. Don't be confused--the... More

This viscerally electrifying wax museum was built in 1962. You will swear you are entering a time capsule as the smell, the heavy air and the beautifully arranged tableaux could not be more evocative. Although more push-button narration would enliven the inert scenes, the unshakable thrill of living the nostaglia of the wax museum age, a time in the 50's... More

The wax museum has the story of John Brown - and for the most part...it's not all that bad. But, for the money you pay...not worth it.
