The first 33 miles offer great paved road with scenic vistas and opportunities for camping along with dirt roads to hiking and biking trails. The road starts 5 minutes outside of Moab and should be part of any trip to the area
We drove along the riverway at least twice a day, since we were staying in Castle Valley. The views of the river and the towering red rocks were beautiful. Best to go during the day-the darkness makes it a bit tricky but we felt safe the entire time.
We drove along this road in the late afternoon and the shadows on the bluffs were wonderful..Driving back after dark was a bit trying so go during daylight..The read is narrow
This wasn't planned but we decided to drive through this area for a few miles just to see what it looked like. We did all 30 miles because the scenery was absolutely breathtaking! Don't miss this area for a pleasant drive along some of the prettiest views in Utah!
A really beautiful area with lots of recreational opportunities in and near the Colorado River. Bring your camera!
