Warning this place May Be Hazardous to your Health: Too Hot. Not a good spot to visit in late Spring or Summer. Definitely no camping in the Summer. Average daytime temp about 105F. Daytime feels like an open flamed BBQ pit. Nice place to visit in the Winter & Fall "Only."

I have been to Big Bend 15 times over my lifetime and it always is a great experience to get away from the city life and enjoy the outdoors. Big Bend is a hikers paradise for the exceptional views and fun. I always recommend going if you have the time. Bad news to people addicted to their cell phone, this... More

The drive down to Rio Grande Village is straight forward, but not very scenic. The village area is pleasant, but hot. But sure to drive over to see the entrance to the downstream canyon.

I have been to most of the National Parks and camped in all of them. I love this park and all of them actually. But plan to stay at Rio Brande Village knowing you are in a facility run by a third party concessionaire. Unfortunately the budgets were cut for National Parks starting back in the 80s when certain Conservative... More

I was amazed at the number of birds one could see just by sitting in the campsite. The vermillion flycatcher is stunning to see and watch.

Not much to see in Rio Grande Village. There is a campground and bathroom. The drive into the village you travel through a neat rock tunnel. Before the tunnel is some nice shale rock alone side the road that has different shades of red and orange running through it.

This is probably my favorite campground in this park but there all good. This one has plenty of room between sites and there level, bathrooms are close no showers store with ice available within walking distance. But the real attraction is the Boquillas Mountains at sunset, just beyond description; don't leave this park without seeing them. Only 4 stars because... More
