My husband and I just returned from a visit to Biltmore Mansion May 16th. We stayed at the Homewood Suites as a package deal through Biltmore. This is the way to go. Everything is taken care of a paid for before you leave your house. I will do a separate review for the hotel. Package pricing does save some money... more

What can I say, the Biltmore Estate is beautiful- the house is spectacular, the gardens are beautiful, the shops have someting for everyone, and the ice cream is none like you've ever tasted! This was my second visit and I loved it even more than the first time. Not only is it an estate, but a place to relax. I... more

This place is the work of a real-life Citizen Kane, and its end-19th century domestic appliances etc. are interesting. But an historic site with curators? Come on! Even by US standards a 1896 steel-frame building isn't that old or remarkable. If you want to see a French Chateau, go to France. Even the gardens are not that remarkable. If that's... more

What a gorgeous place! The drive in was like entering a enchanted forest. We visited on a Saturday during the Festival of Flowers. I must say the price of admission is high, but everything is so well kept and is so organized. The entire place was well-staffed and we never had to wait long for the shuttle bus. Our kids,... more

First let me start my review by correcting something a previous reviewer has posted because it is very important! The Biltmore House DOES have an elevator. It is to the left of the front doors as soon as you come it, in the foyer of the main staircase. My mom uses it everytime we visit, which is often as we... more

The house is spectacular, really beautiful. I could not say enough about it and the grounds. My only problem with this trip was the price. The admission ticket for the house was very high, and that is just one charge. They will nickle and dime you the whole time you are there. There is an extra price for the audio.... more

You'll love the BILTMORE mansion, the gardens, the wine, & the landscape. You'll itch over the price. You'll frown over the food & service. I'm a positive guy so I will RECOMMEND the Biltmore. Just pack a lunch & don't go on a Saturday or expect Disney-type lines. You'll love the history & beauty of this place! My wife &... more

We just returned from an Early Spring drive through the Great Smokey Mountains into Ashville, NC to tour the estate of the Late George Vanderbilt. This turn-of-the -Century home is the largest privately owned home built in America. The 250 room American castle consumes almost four acres of land and rises better than four stories. Filled with priceless antiques, light... more

We visited Biltmore Estate in late March 2008. Here are some impressions and helpful tips: The tickets cost $45 for adults (seasonal--check the price for the time of year you are visiting). You cannot go very far onto the property without tickets for everyone in the car (kids are free to half price, usually. Again, check the website). The cheapest... more
