The Western North Carolina Nature Center is located a few miles from the Asheville Mall which was next door to our hotel. I enjoyed the visit and the walk around the park to see the animals. There were not as many animals as I expected, however. It may be that I am used to large zoos, but at any rate... more

We have annual passes to the Nature Center and enjoy our visits every time we go:) There are many animals native to Western NC and a petting farm. You can see peacocks, bears, wolves, pet turtles, look in microscopes at animal furs and skins and see river otters at play. It is a great value, scenic and a very fun... more

They have a well maintained park with 42 acres and a lot of animals. great for all ages! The animals are viewable up close. Best nature center I've ever been to. Excellent staff, very friendly and knowledgeable. WELL WORTH IT more
