This is a very quaint Chinatown. Lots of gems but not a lot of real estate.

I've worked at the edge of Boston's Chinatown for many years. I've never really though of it as a place to sightsee. As other people have said, it can be dark, dirty and smelly- -especially in the morning. There are some good food places and, they have seasonal festivals which can be fun. I would avoid it at night due... More

The Rose Kennedy Greenway will take you here. It is worth walking the Greenway but this Chinatown is definitely not the one you know from NYC or San Francisco.

I recently discovered that I have a fascination with Chinatown arches, so I couldn't wait to take a picture of the arch. I was disappointed because it was very plain compared to others that I've seen. Oh well...that's not really a big deal. Something else I noticed was how dirty and gloomy the entire area looked.

I walked through here early in the morning - garbage on the streets - smelly - yuck! I doubt if it is this way during the day since I did see someone cleaning up outside on the sidewalks but still not a pleasant place to be in Boston.

The streets need attention and were cluttered with vendors selling trinkets. Many places to eat, and everyone has a different favorite. If you want seafood (crabs, lobster, eels) you can see it swimming in the tank before it is prepared.

I love food and there are plenty of good Asian Restaurants in Chinatown. HOWEVER if you are looking for our Chinatown to look like San Fran. this would not be the place! Our Chinatown is tiny and embarrassing!

Chinatown is excellent for it's reasonably priced and tasty restaurants. From steamed dumplings to pho (soup) you'll find something to satisfy everyone's palette and you won't have to take out a loan to pay your bill.
