We stumbled upon the office next to the Old State House. Again, we were reminded that the National Park Service is a treasure! We took advantage of 2 FREE tours. One tour followed the Freedom Trail from the Old State House to the Old North Church and the other was the Boston African American tour through Beacon Hill. Each tour... More

Average. Not to much to see there. The staff are helpful but they do not have much to work with. it is to bad that the place is boring.

My wife and I stopped here while walking the Freedom Trail. They offer free guided tours of the trail from here, but we opted to do a self-guided tour. We picked up a map and guidebook from the visitor center to use while walking the trail and they were extremely helpful and informational. The employees were very helpful and recommended... More

Discovered NPS tour on TA. Freedom Trail tour was a real learning experience and NPS guide Ashley was informative and easy to follow. She projected her narration clearly and loud enough to be easily heard after waiting for our group to form a tight semi-circle around her facing each sight. Highly recommend this free service.

I am a big fan of the National Park Service, but in this case they fell short. Our tour guide had a group of about 25 and couldn't project his voice enough to be heard. At one point, he literally had his back to us for several minutes - and didn't realize it. We really tried hard to stick with... More

Wow, so did not expect this. Stopped in the visitor center while doing a self guided tour of the Freedom Trail, there was a sign up sheet for a free walking tour of the same areas we were headed so we decided to sign up. What a fun time. The park service guide was great. She was so much fun.... More

There are lots of ways to do the Freedom trail. we chose to go with a park ranger. It was free and Jessica our guide was excellent. The tour was 90 mins long, so not the whole trail, but enough to keep teenagers interested. You can of course walk this by yourself, but having a guide who can tell you... More

The National Park Service by the old state house NPS provides a daily free walking tour that takes you from the old state house through Franeuil Hall to Paul Revere's house. I am glad that we took this instead of one of the paid tour in front of the Boston Common visitor center. The 'dressed up' tour guide was a... More

I noticed this place while on our Freedom Trail Tour. We returned after the tour, as the rain began to pour, and we were able to walk in and purchase some souvenirs. I loved the realia I was able to buy for my classroom, and my son enjoyed his fife.

We went on the National Park Service's FREE Free Trail tour, which was led by Eric H. He was young, enthusiastic about history, and an excellent guide. We met at the NPS office opposite the Old State House and from there, walked to several sites. Eric was superb and incredibly interesting, so much so that he managed to captivate my... More
