This was my first trip to Boston in about 15 years. Going to Filene's Basement was one of the things I most looked forward to. We visited Filene's Basement a couple of times during our recent trip to Boston and bought some real bargains on both visits. My husband bought more than I did but that was mainly because I couldn't be bothered to queue up to use the fitting rooms. I'd definitely recommend this place but you have to have the time to browse... More

This store is an absolute MUST VISIT for all bargain shoppers and designer lovers out there. The "automatic markdown" system is awesome (items that enter the store are stamped with the date they enter and after 2 weeks are marked down 25%, then 50, then 75, and after too long are given to charity).
