Don't be put off by the scaffolding outside or the renovations process. If you are in Topeka, go to the capitol! Very informative guided tour given and you can go to the tippy top of the dome! Uncommonly beautiful old-time interior decorations, shiny copper and brass railings, unbelievably lovely murals. Don't miss it. more

Not much else to do in Topeka but if you are there, visit the Kansas State Capitol. My wife and I did the Dome tour and walked around the inside of the building. A guide will take you inside the dome for the tour and provide some history (tour is free). The tour ends with you standing on the outside... more
