We were greeted at the entrance by someone dressed in character. You can walk from room to room as a self-guided tour and a sheet of paper describing what was in each room. Most of the rooms were blocked off by glass, so you couldn't actually walk "into" most of the rooms. It was interesting. Our 8 and 6-yr old... More

I have recently come to the San Diego area on business for several months and since I enjoy the paranormal, I chose to check out the Whaley House. Since my first visit on April 13, 2012, which happened to also be Friday the 13th, I cannot seem to get enough. I have a Fuji digital camera and the photos I... More

If you're in Old Town don't miss visiting the Whaley House. The house definitely has a strange atmosphere and it was interesting hearing about the experiences of the people who work there. Learning the history of the house was a bonus.

We visited on April 10, 2012. We did catch an image on our digital camera. We asked one of the employees and she saw it also. Well worth our money.

We had seen the Whaley House listed as the #1 haunted place on the Travel Channel's most haunted places in the U.S. Since we're amateur ghost hunters and live only about a hundred miles away, we thought we'd try a little ghost hunting, but were disappointed in that aspect once again. We had a very good and interesting museum tour... More

The Whaley House is rumored to be one of the most haunted houses in America. Living in San Diego, I have visited the Whaley House many, many times. Only twice have I experienced anything which might be considered by some to be "paranormal". Now, I believe in ghosts and all of that, but I would think that "one of the... More

We always make a habbit of hunting down haunted houses/buildings etc. The history behind Whaley House in Old Town was interesting and it was great to see it was decorated with authentic pieces of furniture etc. You can take photos but no video cameras allowed. Staff/volunteers were enthusiastic and obviously loved being there. Well worth a look.

I suppose it's a nice place to check out if you're already in Old Town, but don't come just for it. I think the significance is more about people trying to see "the ghosts". The story goes in very basic terms: Man hung himself-so there is that ghost. And the family had a little scottish terrier dog-that is a ghost... More

The ghostly tales just might scare you. One of many historical sites in Old Town, a must see.
