The building and space is spectacular. The collection includes many religious pieces, more than expected in such a small museum. Of note in the collection is a painting by Hieronymus Bosch, Modigliani and an El Greco. Worthy of our time even on a bright sunny day. Admission on May 2012 was $12 for adults and $8 for students. Good variety in their permanent collection, and some knock out exhibitions. Always worth a stop.

EVERYTHING in Balboa Park is a must see. Trails, gardens, museums, zoo etc. etc.etc. Go to this jewel of a place and you will fall in love with San Diego!

Nice museum, has some classic artists, religious art, and local art on display. Not crowded, easy to get around, nice building and people.

Interesting set of paintings from different countries and periods, well displayed, with helpful explanatory notes. Nice building too.

Great facade, great exhibits, changing themes and well worth the time. We are members so we find out well in advance what is coming and we plan our time in the park around it.

You have to visit The San Diego Museum of Art in Balboa Park. The ever changing exhibits are worth you time and money. The Museum Store is one of the best!!

I was invited o anted the quarterly Culture and art event. This is my second time attending this event and have really enjoyed the the art and has provided a different perspective. This is a MUST!

San Diego used to be a cultural backwater, but it's improving. The permanent collection here is less than what you'd expect in the nation's 8th largest city, but there's enough in it to make a visit worthwhile and it's well displayed.
