The America's Cup trophy is named after the yacht 'America'. We conduct regular public trips on the race yachts around San Diego bay where the guests get to participate if they wish as part of the crew. On a busy day we will have both yachts out racing against each other. San Diego is the only place in the USA where you can race on these style yachts. The larger America does amazing 4 hour whale watching and sunset sails to the ocean for both the Gray whale migration in the winter and the Blue Whale viewings in the summer. « less

I usually go whale watching at least 2 times a year , and this year decided to try sailing , since I had never sailed. What a wonderful experience and will definetly sail again on the America, the boat is beautiful with lots of room to hold alot of passengers, the captain is very friendly and knowledgable, and even lets... My family went on this sailing adventure for our birthdays. We had a wonderful time. The boat is beautiful and you feel so up close to the ocean. We saw whales and dolphins but would have had a great time on the boat even if we hadn't seen anything. There were lots of knowledgeable people aboard and we especially liked... More

My family was in from Chicago and even though whale watching season is winding down I thought it was worth taking the chance. I decided to go with this particular excursion because I figured if we didn't see any whales it would be fun to be on a yacht. First time for me! It was an extremely windy day with... More

We were on a whale watching cruise on March 31st. The captain and crew are wonderful and the America is a fine vessel. I have done harbor cruises and whale watching on other ships but none can compare to this trip. This is the only way to cruise the bay or go whale watching out of San Diego

This was our second excursion with Next Level Sailing. One was the sunset sail. This trip was their whale-watching excursion! FABULOUS! We saw whales and dolphins. The crew was so friendly and knowledgeable. What a great day!

This was the highlight of our trip to San Diego. The crew was great- they went out of their way to make the trip interesting, educational, fun, comfortable and safe. I can't say enough about "pirate" Al, here is a man who loves his work. The whale watching was great but the sailing was fantastic- the America is an incredible... More

This trip leaves from the Maritime Museum at 11 a.m. and returns about 3 p.m. ish. Our family has a wide age range 16, 12, and 6. Most of the time it is hard to find something that everyone loves, but our whale watching trip on the America was enjoyed by the whole family. Guests begin the trip by helping... More

The Captain and crew were fantastic. They were all very friendly, courteous, and professional in every aspect. The sailing alone made for a great day. Seeing the whales and lots of dolphins were icing on the cake. We visit San Diego several times a year and this is a must do to make your visit or vacation there complete.

My husband and adult daughter and I had a fantastic time on The America. We were worried about the chilly temperatures, but we dressed warmly in layers and once we were out of the harbor we were so entertained by the crew, the sights and the sail that we never were uncomfortable. We saw 3 whales, many dolphin, and had... More

I was a little nervous about it being too crowded with 78 people on board. I was wrong. Very comfortable. The crew is extremely knowledgable, friendly and great with adults and children. I have been on many whale watches in New England and that was not why me and my two teens chose this. We just wanted to sail. We... More
