I love this city! I can bring my four kids downtown at anytime of the day or night and see how clean and safe it is to walk around. We love it!

City has a good "feel" to it. We enjoyed our visit = especially the Trolley tour. Went round on it twice to get a second look !!

There's something for everybody downtown. Great restaurants and bars for every budget, rooftop venues, Ball park, Museums, seaport, great music. You'll never be bored!

The downtown is very clean with lots of on-street parking at night. Plenty of great restaurants and shops and the streets are filled with people.

It was fun walking around downtown. We walked down from Balboa Park to our hotel, enjoying the views. We also enjoyed walking the Gaslamp district in the evening -- really a vibrant area.

Downtown San Diego is a lot more interesting than it was five years ago. The scruffy areas have receded as new condos and businesses have been built. The many restaurants, bars, and clubs in the Gaslamp district make up for the lack of retail shops along 5th Avenue. If you want to shop, go to nearby Horton Plaza. Exploring the... More

I like how ecletic San Diego in people and environment...you can go one block and it's a little scary go to the next block and it has the coolest coffee shop every...Fine restaurants to fast food, it has everything. I love some of the new developements down there, the lofts/condo's and rentals, super cool what they are doing down there.

not much going on in this sleepy downtown where the population is comprised primarily of seagulls and homeless people. Tourists pour into the Gaslamp District for reasons unknown to me as there is nothing of interest in that cutesy neighborhood. The area around Petco Park, however, shows promise, so I would suggest staying in this East Village part of town... More

San Diego is one of the cleanest, and architecturally varied cities I have ever lived in. Everything is relatively close. Transportation is terrific, with the red car serving everywhere. Dont miss Old Town and walk your heads off because you CAN get there from anywhere. I love San Diego
