We really enjoyed our tour. Our educator was really informative. She made us walk in the shoes of these immigrant families in a vivid way. She questioned our assumptions and made us realise how lucky we are to live the way we do. more

This is a good little museum if you want a look into life in late 19th century and early 20th century New York. However, the building itself is not particularly big and could easily be covered in a one hour tour. But you can't do that because the guided tours apparently only cover one floor each. This is not your run of the mill museum...instead the tour guide takes you on an hour long tour of 2 tenement apartments. It was a very illuminating visit that really capatured what life must have been like during the hey day of the lower east side. more
