Read about the Top of the Rock from tripadvisor and decided I'd rather go here than repeat a trip to the Empire State Building. What I really liked was that you can see the Empire State Building from here, still one of the most recognizable buildings in the city. Unfortunately, there was a big snowstorm starting the day we decided... more

We went specifically to the city to see the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree. We had never gone and wanted to experience it. We walked up 5th Ave from 42nd street and we were able to see the tree from in front of Saks Fifth Avenue. It was far away and the people packed in front of Saks was crazy!!!! We... more

My husband and I have been visiting Rockefeller Center for years now. It is on Holiday Traditions list. Each year we make a trip to NYC to see the Tree at Rockefeller Center, Macy's Santa Land & Holiday Lane and Bryant Park. Rockefeller Center is well known for the large Christmas Tree that they have on display during the winter... more

loved the views from the top of the rock, better than the empire state you can see central park and have a great view of the empire state. The lift ride is pretty good as well but don't look up on your way down if your not too good with heights would go back again for sure !! more

Wonderful views of Manhattan, at 850 feet above sea level, the visit thicket includes a piece of history about the Rockefeller center and Radio City Music Hall. Take your camera! the view is better than the top of the Empire State building. more

The view itself is unique and astonishing, unobstructed for 360 degrees and stretching for miles in every direction. It includes a panorama of Central Park and the northern half of Manhattan that can't be found anywhere else. New York's other landmarks are visible as well, including the Chrysler Building, Times Square, the Hudson River, the East River, the Brooklyn Bridge,... more

Visited both the Empire State Building and Rockefeller Center Top of the Rock Observatory on our first trip to New York and agree the best views are from the Rockefeller Center, mainly because it is closer to Central Park and you also get great views of the Empire State Building as well! We visited during the day then again at... more

Agree - some of the best views in New York to be found - where else can you actually be high enough to see the Empire State? Only thing was being charged $2 to get a leaflet telling you what you were seeing and it was out of date - it was missing a couple of sky-scrapers!!!! Def worth the... more

We had a nice visit in Rockefeller Center's Observation Desk last August. The staff was polite and we didn't need to queue. NYC was absolutely worth of seeing from the Observations Desk. more
