One of the best plays I have ever seen. I had no idea what to expect but had heard good things about it. The play was hilarious and the actors were unbelievable being able to play so many different characters. Knowing Hitchcock movies also helps you pick up on little references throughout the play. A must see!!!

Wanted to see a different kind of show and this was it! Lots of fun with clever 'effects'. Pay attention to catch the sometimes subtle humor/info. Good entertainment!

I am a huge Alfred Hitchcock fan. I got a deal on these tickets and thought it would be different to see a movie on stage. I had no idea that it was a comedy until I came to the theater. I had no idea what we were in for. We were in for the best time. I have not... More

one of the best performances I have seen. Watch the movie prior to coming, makes it more enjoyable. Also being familiar with other movies of his is helpful, but not necessary.

This show is based on a 1930's film noir by Alfred Hitchcock. If you are a Hitchcock fan, see this! But first, rent the old movie so you'll know what's going on in this quick-paced parody of the film. This play is so funny; my husband and I laughed almost the entire time. We are big theater people, and this... More

My husband and I went to see "The 39 Steps" at the Helen Hayes Theatre. We expected to enjoy a lively comedy. Instead, we struggled to hear what the actors were saying and didn't find anything about it funny. Sure, it was clever with actors changing characters often, but the jokes and gags just weren't funny at all. (Maybe we... More

Went to show today and was blown away at the acting, the show, and the entire performance. All four of the actors were incredible. 'The performances of Man #1' and 'Man #2' were hilarious but also spot on. We took our 3 kids (11, 9, and 9). They loved it. It is somewhat slapstick comedy for their age. They did... More

The best part of our New York visit in Feb 2008 was an evening at the American Airlines Theatre where "39 Steps" was playing before its move to the Cort Theatre and its "Tony" nomination. This production, with its stage cast of four is mesmerizing, thrilling and hillarious! Knowing that a cast of four extremly talented actors portrayed what seemed... More
