A very special place. Go to see the art, go to listen to music, go to see the herb garden in the spring, etc. Just go. You won't regret it.

If you are interested in medieval art and antiquities, this is the place. It's in a lovely setting, and is part of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, so if you belong to the Met, admission is free here, too. My husband and I walk there sometimes from Fort Lee, NJ - over the bridge and northward. A perfect outing.

So close to Manhattan and a world away. Spent a few hours in this medieval structure where you're back in the 1200-1300s. Beautiful tapestries, fine art, lovely gardens and beautiful views of the Hudson River. Something so unique so near.

Step back in time and visit the magnificent collection of fine art. The gardens outside are keeping within the time period and the treasures and setting within will make you want to sit back and relax as if you were on a trip to a foreign locale.

I am a history teacher, and this was the perfect place for me. The unicorn tapestry and the other artifacts in the collection were beautiful and fascinating.

I love The Cloisters and it is definitely worth the subway ride uptown! It is a great way to get away from the hectic city and you are surrounded by beautiful historic art that is housed in the historical Cloisters themselves which makes you feel like you are in a medieval castle. Don't miss it!

This place is amazing. Wonderful collection of artworks and historical artefacts, books etc. Peaceful and pretty garden. A bit of a journey on the train, but worth it if you have time.
