In the summer, you can have free bike riding for an hour. It's a small island with lots of grass and trees and places to relax. Have a picnic, walk around and visit the art presentations, enjoy a concert, etc. It's a nice place to relax for a day.

Little by little it's being turned into an enchanted park. And the ferry is a freebie.
If you're looking for an economical getaway this is a very easy choice. You can picnic, see art, relax with friends and/or family. There's so much space you won't feel crowded. Great views of Brooklyn, Manhattan, Staten Island and New Jersey, as well as of Upper New York Harbor and the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge
This place is full of history and you don't have to spend a lot of time. I recomended this place if you come to NY
A wonderful, peaceful island in New York Harbor. We go there for performances, but it is also a great place to rent a bicycle.

Fantastic place for everyone! This is one of the more unique places to see in NY and most people don't even know about it.

Just to share a couple of "beware" tips: Those tandem bikes available for rent, may look fun but are SO SLOW and heavy - they feel more like exercise machines.
