First time in Harlem and loved every bit of it. Very cosmopolitan, great restaurants, boutiques. A great place to spend an afternoon watching the world go by.

Harlem has sooo many attractions from its scenic neighborhoods to entertainment, resturants, stores for shopping, musicAnd their colorfull historic background, also the natives of Harlem are gracious, warm, helpful, friendly people.Great place for touring.
It's not disappointing, it's a neighborhood, people live there, so there's not much to do if you don't. There are a lot of restaurants though, bars, lounges.

Just a mellow place to visit with wide streets and beautiful old brownstones. You can take the Jazz tour, the Jewish tour or whatever special tour there is to offer. Not to mention listening to gospel music in one of the many churches on Sunday
An adventure to say the least, vendors all up and down the street with everything under the sun. low prices.
We just went for a walk there and the athmosphere is soooooooooooo nice and relaxed. We did lots of shopping there, inside and outside :))).
We attended a service on Sunday at 11.00am and were greeted and made to feel very welcome. A great experience to attend and also to have a walk around Harlem
There are so many restaurants here. My favorite is the French one on 125th and Malcolm X (Chez Lucienne). MAKE RESERVATIONS! They have a prix fixe menu from 4-6.15pm (order within that time) for $21! AWESOME. so much better than the ones downtown. Worth the trip! Gets REALLY crowded around 7.30-8pm. Excellent service.
harlem is & always has been a great place to visit & live--for more than 15 years i've chosen the latter. i'm never bored of the eclectic offerings & people. it's easily accessible to the rest of manhattan & the boros. food (great restaurants & food haunts) & culture (museums; historical bldgs & the harlem arts festival this summer) abound....
