Liberty is closed this summer, so unless you want to tour Ellis, skip the hours of waiting in line and jump the taxi. Less expensive, and you can bop around the south side of NYC while catching great sites and getting some good info.

The water taxi is a hop on/hop off tour that runs from South Street Seaport (Pier 17) north up the Hudson and back again. The guide was very knowledgeable, the boat is comfy, and there are great attractions at every stop.
The boat trip was the highlight of our trip. We spent all day on the boat seeing all the parts of New York that we could, also saved us walking to the 9/11 memorial!. The staff were friendly and polite, the boat was on time. Fun had by all!
This was the highlight of our stay in New York and it was good value. We originally planned to do a circle line cruise but when we found out that the ticket for the taxi included a voucher for Ground Zero we opted for this trip. We are so glad that we did. Apart from getting off and visiting Ground...

Great way to see some the city. The tour guide was great, lots of interesting information and history, and of course great views of the skyline, and Statue of Liberty. You can get on at Pier 84 having seen the USS Intrepid museum, and travel down to Battery Park and the 9/11 memorial, then great view of the Brooklyn Bridge...

We took the Water Tax from South Street Seaport on around to the dock by the U.S.S. Intrepid. It was a great way to see the Statue of Liberty and the Manahattan Skyline from the river. The stop at Battery Park was closed when we went. The operators provided lots of good information along the way. This is included in...
