5th Avenue is great, it's next to sooo many different stores. You will find whatever it is you are looking for. It's one of the must see spots you always hear about it in movies/tv.

fifth avenue in december, see the windows of saks, tiffany, bonwit teller, etc. don't miss going into the store and rockefeller center, see the tree, watch the skaters, buy some chestnuts from a street vendor.

Try getting hotels in the 7th and 8th avenue, they are far cheaper and only some blocks away.

We walked from one end to the other and it is a long way, excellent shopping from saks to tiffanys to Abercrombie and Fitch you have everything, also at 5th ave a really big Apple store.

If your going NYC you got to go 5th ave. lots of high end shopping... Browse a little, have a coffee then move on (unless you are going to spend up big!!) but it's a new York must do!

So many stores to go to, and sites to see. Busy with tourists on the weekend and felt safe while walking. Double decker Tourist buses available nearby if you want to ride.
