After reading reviews on this page and also on the Forum pages, we decided to visit the Tribute Center instead of the Museum and Workshop. For $15 we were admitted into the gallery museum and went on a guided walking tour, which was close to two hours long. Our guides were a husband and wife team. Paul was a retired... more

It was our first time in New York City and the first place we went to after checking into our hotel was Ground Zero to pay our respects. I was happy to find that the Visitors Center is exactly what it should be: a small, simple building directly across from the site dedicated solely to the victims who tragically lost... more

As other reviewers have said, this is a building site - but we still wanted to go to pay our respects. Don't miss St Paul's chapel nearby - they have an exhibition and memorial as many of the rescue workers/ rebuilders would come into this chapel to pray and get away from the scene for a while. We looked at... more

Went to the site of the World Trade Center to pay our respects and see for ourselves what a vast area it was. We were directed to the World Financial Center- Winter Garden for the best view through their floor-to-ceiling windows. How soon Americans forget what those murderers did to our citizens and our country. Let's never forget those innocents... more

I was in New York for four days including 11th Sept, and I thought I'd pop down to 'Ground Zero' It's one of those things you must do in New York, for no other reason other than to say "I've been there", nothing to see To be honest I don't know what I expecting to see really, but what I... more

I think like many others reviewing this have said, this is a place to visit with the sensitivity and understanding of the events of 9/11 and if you are going to approach it as a tourist then you may get some dirty looks. I thankfully knew why I was going and it was not to take smiling pictures etc. but... more

It's impossible to understand the enormity of the events that happened here without actually visiting the site. There isn't really a good place to view the site itself (though you get a bit of a view from the pedestrian bridge) but just walk around the block and see exactly how long it takes you. Taking that in and seeing all... more

It feels wrong to rate the experience of visiting the ground zero site... choosing one option I opt for excellent but given the choice I think we would all rather that we were commenting on the twin towers than ground zero. If you care for what happened then visiting the site is a worthwhile experience. There is a museum tribute... more

I went to the WTC in July of 2004, my first visit to New York. I only went because i wanted to pay my respects, have a quiet little moment and remember. I did just that. The sheer scale of ground zero is incomprehensible on TV and you will only learn this once you've stood behind the construction fences and... more

the first time we went here I was devastated, having watched the events of 9/11 unfold on tv it was impossible to grasp the enormity of it in the same way as seeing that vacant space... second visit we went back and was equally upset by it... more
