A visit to Ground Zero is an experience you'll never forget and something all Americans should do to remember those who died in a horrific terrorist attack. It's incredibly moving to walk around the site, read the names of the dead and contemplate what happened there. Make a reservation ahead of time and print out your free tickets, and be... More

On Memorial Day weekend, My husband and son, nephew and I visited Ground Zero. We reserved passes online and printed at home and were able to enter the site where the two reflection pools stand in the exact place of the two destroyed buildings stood. Seeing all the names engraved around the pools and flowers and flags placed for loved ones... More

Always, a emotional experience. Be sure to get a pass a few streets over before you go to the entrance. Also., noticed lines long midday. I walked right in in the morning.

what a somber place to visit. to see the 40 feet deep waterfalls in the footprint of the twin towers is amazing. to read all the names in bronze of people that died is amazing. and to see all the trees planted there. when they get the museum opened , that will make it even better.

I was deeply moved. I don't think an American can visit this site and not be moved.

I would recommend visiting the Ground Zero site during your visit to New York, remembering the lives lost on 9/11. You have to book your free entrance ticket online prior to your visit, otherwise you will not get in. Security to get into the site did take a while (however it was just a week after opening) so may not... More

You do need to book before you go (it is free). The security is cold, efficient, airport like. The site is kind of bleak, but I know there are huge pressures and heavy discussions in the USA on all aspects of the 9/11 disaster. According to my friends in the US, politics, sentiment and grief are all fuelling the difficulties... More

It was surreal to be there and to see these massive pools of water where the towers once stood. It was a very moving experience that made what happened here so much more real. Definitely worth the visit. The passes are free but its best to secure them online before visiting.
