The recent renovation to the South Street Seaport Museum I really enjoyed the eclectic charm the newly renovated museum shares. It's a welcome quiet escape from the seaport shops and has a thoughtful approach to it's exhibitions. The museum covers 3 floors of an old warehouse with each floor broken up into separate exhibitions in each room. Each exhibition covers... More

Don't go to South St. Seaport just for the shops... take time to visit the South Street Seaport Museum at 12 Fulton Street. Admission is only $5. See the exhibits, tour the Ambrose lightship, visit the print shop Bowne & Co., and (in season) pack a picnic lunch or dinner and buy a ticket to go sailing in New York... More

This museum is very very small - the only exhibit was about 3 rooms - all about one old cruise ship. I couldn't believe that was it and that was it. It looks bigger from the outside - took me about 10 minutes to walk through it so I'm soooo glad I went on a free Friday night admission -otherwise... More

Our son was transferred to New York in March of 2010. We visited in June and one of the sites that seemed worth seeing was this museum. We entered to purchase tickets and were taken back a bit by the $15 dollar per person fee, The museum consists of three different building on the waterfront and two ships that you... More

I can't believe how many negative reviews are on here we went over here in july 2009. We did not go on the ships at all but we went in the museum bit. The ocean liner section was my favorite part. There are tons of models of various ocean liners including Titanic Queen Mary and the France. There also is... More

We were given free tickets to the musuem by a family who didn't have time to go, and boy were we glad that we didn't pay money for it! It has old pictures and letters, models of ships, a silent video made up of pictures of boats and then 2 ships in the bay you can go on. But it... More

We went on the ships and to the museum. It took about 2 hours. We also ate at Pizza Uno’s. It was good food at a reasonable price. The view of the Brooklyn Bridge is worth the trip itself. Included in your admission are three museums (whaling, cruise ships, and printing press) and two ships. You may want to check... More
