Great views! I bought dinner at Chelsea Market and ate sitting on the wooden lounge chairs enjoying the river view and breeze.

although we had a little trouble finding the entrance, once there we enjoyed a green oasis from the endless sidewalks. Old elevated subway line now a beautiful park. Good spot to sit a spell and look out over the Hudson River. Right next to good Chelsea shopping too!

The High Line has gotten so much press that it is almost guaranteed to be a disappointment, but it isn't. Quite wonderful, in a gritty, New York kind of way. A rails to trails project right in Manhattan!

Go walk the highline, it's an inspiration and demonstrates how enviro minded people can create a wonderfully rich and grren zone in a dense urban landscape. It provides a wonderful juxtaposition of nature and development as well as an enjoyable route to move from midtown down to the west village

Such a great use of space. Amazing gardens, nice to see people strolling and not in a rush. It was a beautiful evening when we walked along and there were a few vendors selling snacks.

Thank goodness they pulled this off. Just goes to show how the private sector is key. The property values are skyrocketing as proof...

The High Line is an amazing park that is elevated on an unused above ground railway line. There are many really neat features along the park and many areas where to exit if you need to. Lots of great public art pieces are displayed along the length of the park as well. It's a great place to visit, have a... More

This converted elevated railway bed has been converted to an elevated green space. We caught it on the west end of the Chelsea Market. You can stroll as far as your legs will let you. Easy access is found at multiple points along the route stretching from 13th St. to 30 St.

This was so fun. O it was very crowded during out visit but was a beautiful day and the sights you could see from the park were great. It is really nicely landscaped and was fun to watch everybody enjoying themselves. I would consider this somewhere not to be missed.
