From "Stuart Little" to "Ransom", it's a well known back drop for so many movies and TV shows. It's also an amazing, relaxing area in one of the busiest cities in the world. It's hard to imagine that just a mile away is the honking and congestion that so many of us attribute to NYC. Take a penny and make... More

This is a very nice, big fountain. The area surrounding this fountain is absolutely gorgeous. A photographer's dream. The literary walk leads right up to this. Dogs are generally jumping in and out of here. (They are not required to be on leash.) So tons of splashing around! It's very serene and reflective. Definitely be there for some amazing photos!

Excellent scenery here. Lots of dogs around as well (no leash). But they are all well-behaved. The area is huge and very historic looking. Nice for photos and a quiet, romantic walk with your sweetie.

The walk along the literary walk is lovely, very quiet when we were there & the fountain wasn't on due to the weather, but can imagine it being beautiful

Great stop, beautiful ! Just a quick walk away is a small boathouse restaurant and restrooms. It seems you can even rent row boats for the pond. Great picture taking site!

I enjoyed spending some time at Bethesda Fountain in August 2008. A film crew was there filiming "Made in Rome" - look for it in fall of 2009. The Fountain was a great place to hang out, people watch. While you are in the area, go over to the Loeb Boathouse and rent a rowboat for $12.00 an hour. Great... More

Bethesda fountain near 72nd Street in Central Park is my favorite place in the US (was in the world until I went to venice). Every time I visit NYC, I HAVE to visit "my fountain." It's beautiful spot to sit and people watch, eat some food you just purchased from the boathouse nearby, or just watch people in their row... More
