The aerial tram is a great view to see Manhattan from above. If you have a metro card you can use it to pay the fare. The tram takes about five minutes and if you are just going back and forth you still have to get off at the station and then stand in line to board again.

It is true there is not much to do once you are on the island, but the view on the tram is great. Soar over traffic and the river and get a unique view of NYC, once at the Island catch a bite to eat and relax overlooking the river.

Taking this Aerial Tram to Roosevelt Island was a nice view parallel to the Queensboro Bridge. Roosevelt Island offered a peaceful place overlooking the NYC. Just across the river in a peaceful park - watching the busy ness of the city..

It's so cheap and easy you should try it out. Tip Alert! If you want to check out Serendipity 3, featured in the movie Serendipity I'd stop in there first to see how long the wait is. If it's more than 30 minutes put your name down run over to the Tram, go over take a few photos of the... More

Our first trip to New York this Easter - 2012. Not much to see at the island, but a place to rest and enjoy the silence. We arrived in the most wonderful sunshine. Yong people playing baseball at the field,a wiew to the river and a picnic at the grass. There is a small house where a very nice lady... More

This is an easy activity to give a new view of the city. We took the aerial tram over $4.50 return per person. Not much to do on the island other than grab a pizza or coffee.

Despite several earlier trips to NYC, we only stumbled across this by accident. Whilst not an 'official' NYC tourist attraction, this cable car, situated adjacent to the 59th Street Bridge (Yes, the one in the Simon & Garfunkel song) is a must-see. Granted, there isn't much to see or do except admire the views as you cross the East River... More

An unusual way to be transported. If you are lucky a ship might pass underneath as you cross the river. I hope King-Kong doesn't swat the car!
