My wife and I were in New York on the date of our wedding anniversary. After an enjoyable day out, followed by an excellent broadway show we were both really happy. To end the evening, I wanted to surprise my wife by singing and playing a song that has meaning to both of us in one of those open mic... More

We had a 6 PM reservation and were told we were 18 minutes early and would have to wait outside for a table. We were then told we could sit at the bar, no free drinks were offered. After several discussions, at 6:25 PM they finally "found a solution" to the problem of people taking longer than they expected by... More

My husband and I visited DTM on a trip to NY early this year. We were staying on West 44th and DTM is just a couple of blocks up. We looked up piano bars on Google maps and came up with DTM which we knew nothing about. We had dinner first and didn't arrive until after 10pm at which time... More

I have just recently returned from a visit to NYC and one evening I asked the concierge at my hotel if he could recommend a jazz or piano bar close by, I was staying on West 46th. Don't Tell Mama was one of the suggestions. My girlfriend and I opted to go to Don't Tell Mama. It was a fairly... More

We have been here probably 50 times in the past 15 years (and we don't live in NYC). This is our favorite place in the city and we never miss it when we are in New York. Yes, as everyone else says, you will see incredibly talented singers/piano players perform here but what keeps us coming back is the magic.... More

We went to this location after seeing a Broadway show. We had a wonderful time. The piano player was entertaining and talented. Our waitress also sang and was also very good and funny. Though we did not see any Broadway entertainers from the audience get up and sing, a non professional did get up and sang very well. There is... More

Awesome! Friendly, great entertainment, and quite possibly the most fun you can have with your clothes on in New York. You should check this place out if you can.

The entertainment was fun, but be prepared to get cozy with people at the next table.

I was aware of Don't Tell Mama, as it has been operating for many, many years. i never visited it when I was a resident of NYC but in 2000, I was working in The City and found myself on Restaurant Row, dinning at the delightful Broadway hang out, Joe Allan's, walked outside and heard singing coming from across the... I had stumbled across Don't Tell Mama back in 1985 or so. I was in NYC for a weekend with a friend and we somehow met up with the owner or manager of this place. He was quite the character, to put it mildly. Needless to say we had a real blast. I had nearly forgotten about the place until... More
