Without a doubt this is one of the best deals for entertainment in NYC. UCB offers 2 shows a night. People show up early (6pm for the 7:30pm show on the Sunday night we went) and begin lining up outside on the left side of the sidewalk, many with dinner in tow to eat as they wait. They take reservations,... More

Spent $10 to see The Curfew this past Saturday and had a great time. Very funny show. Got there late (about ten minutes before showtime) and just made it in, too late to get a chair, but was perfectly happy to sit right on the stage. Definitely recommend seeing a show at UCB, and do make reservations on their website.... More

Went twice - great affordable fun for college age and older. Not for grandparents, tho. Really bawdy and funny for the right age group. Super bargain for the entertainment value.

During a long weekend in NYC, we decided to try Upright Citizens Sunday night Asscat3000 show based on a recommendation from friends. We loved it! We purchased tickets online, but still arrived about an hour early (which I definitely recommend, the line forms early as the later showing is free). We grabbed some beer from the CVS at the corner... More

Went to an improv night though the set wasn't so funny, it was amuzing enough I imagine the standup nights are better The place is very nice and cheap, and they don't come up with ways to charge you for stuff you don't want So definatly try it

I'm a big fan of improv as a highly skilled activity and art form. The UCB asscat 3000 show was more about cheap laughs. This worked, as the show was very funny, but when you have 7 people each trying to be funny as opposed to 7 people each trying to collaborate to do improv together it makes for some... More

This was my second visit to UCB. The first time we had a chance to see a group with Bobby Moynihan who is now a regular on SNL. Both shows got lots of laughs from a mostly young crowd. It was entertaining. Plus it was only $10 a head, and walking distance to our hotel. Improv comedy is hard and... More

As another reviewer said, it must be hit or miss. This one was miss. I've been to many improv shows in the past at other venues so I know what I'm in for. The problem with this one is that every skit dragged on too much and the material was just not funny. It was like they were just trying... More

My wife and I were saving up our energy for a night out the following day and were looking for some comedy. The players were good (one person looked familiar from 30 Rock), the audience was enthusiastic, and it only cost $10 with no drink minimum (the beer and wine wasn't overpriced at all if you do want to drink).... I've been to both NYC UCB locations and both were really enjoyable. I preferred the seating at the 26th street location but the show was super affordable and really funny. I was pleasantly surprised by how many times I actually cried from laughing.
