Good Food and clean, but overpriced and the staff are not friendly. This is not the place where I would want to take a drink again. Not what I was expecting.
1st of wall the address published here is Wrong! Correct address: 30 E 23rd street, Madison Avenue (a black door with no sign next to a stainless steel looking wall). Definitely not a good place to drink, unless you like pretentious staff treating you like a moron. Staff welcomes you with the following quote (even before offering you water): "Let... More
I was expecting more. Something special & unique, but it wasn't there. That said, the cocktails were fine, but over-priced. Atmosphere felt forecd & fabricated.
If you like to drink decent drinks in a place that feels like a mix between a McDonalds, home depot and a construction site, in the dark - filled with tourists - please go! it is embarrassingly bad, on almost every level. the layout, style, service, vibe, feeling - all of it is way subpar, tacky and cheap! Too bad... More
I had expected M&H to be the high point of my NYC bar experiences; an intimate speakeasy atmosphere coupled with perfectly crafted cocktails. I couldn't have been more wrong! They have now moved to larger premises which from the state of the interior (unpainted walls and ill fitting upholstery) look like they are still being finished. From the street the... More
Thanks for M&H for accommodating our late arrival due to delayed flights. Nondescript door, small intimate interior. Great mixed drinks. Friendly service. Reservations required. Highly recommended.
Expensive but good cocktail made by good bartenders.... sorry! mixologists. Try Peat´s Word! Amazing cocktail! Superb service!
I go to M&H London several times a month and was interested to try their NYC branch to see how it compares. As noted in prior reviews, M&H NYC is tough to find and tough to get into: both physically because you can't hear the buzzer when they let you in and socially because reservations are a MUST. Once inside... More
Wow. What a cool place, and I mean cool in the 1950's sense. Hip. This place is like a time portal to the Rat Pack days, or even the Speakeasy days, but even better. You don't simply order a drink, they concoct one specifically for you. If you don't know where this place is, forget finding it. And if you... More
Went to milk and honey last night, and what a great place, first this is a hard place to find, there is know signs above the door telling you it's there, but that's what a speak easy bar is about. This one I have to say is my best one yet, when you enter the grotty door from the street... More
