Being a former public school teacher who also worked thru school wide desegregation, it was a powerful moment for me to see where it all started back in the fifties. I remember seeing the TV news as a kid. Now to be standing here in front of the building on a very quiet sunny weekday afternoon, it was a very... More

We loved this museum. The size was great, as it was thorough and interesting, but didn't take too much time. Many museums can be overwhelming, but this was condense. I thought it did a great job of conveying the emotions connected to integration (speaking as someone who did not live through it). I wish I could bring all my students... More

I couldn't believe how huge the school is! Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to tour because the touring hours are somewhat limited on Monday-Friday from 9am-1:15pm.

Looks so different than any school I have visited. And so much history there. Great to walk on the grass and look at the bricks.

Was planning to just drive by but didn't realize it has a very nice visitors' center. See historical footage on the actual location. Pretty awesome.

A place of civil rights history not to be missed. The street is very much the same as it was in 1957.

See the beginning of civil rights in the US. Nine brave kids against thousands that hated them for wanting a better life and future and risked everything for the progress of a nation.

The school is larger and grander than I could tell from the video and photo's I had seen before. There is also a reflecting pond and 9 stone benches with the names of the Little Rock 9 on them. Very nice experience.

My husband, children and I enjoyed the National Park Service interpretive center which is across from the High School. My children are 11 and 14; they are ready to learn about this turbulent time in American history. The museum has video footage and lots of photographs which explain the events and put them into perspective. My children had learned about... More

While we lived through this period of history from afar, this display gave us incredible insight and information. The visual display is very good, but there is power in the audio. There are several audio stations where you sit and listen to the Little Rock Nine and others talk about their experiences at the time. Powerful stuff. This is not... More
