Smaller park with some history of the war in this area. It doesn't take long to see.

As Americans, we tend to forget that the Revolutionary War was one that we barely pulled off victoriously. Cowpens is one batte ground that was significant in keeping the South out of the British orbit. As the short film states, the British had little problem antagonizing settlers in what would become the states of North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.... More

This isn't the flashiest battle field you will ever visit, but it has a quiet elegance of it's own. The ranger walk is great as they provide additional insight over the various signs posted around the battle field.

Like that we have history so available, although it's not taught enough in the locals schools for residents to appreciate more. Very knowledgeable staff, easy to find and navigate, lots of educational info throughout the battlefield.

My daughter and I visited on Friday, April 13th. The weather was perfect and there were no crowds. She did the Junior Ranger Booklet. So, we took our time exploring the inside and outside, answering all the questions along the way. We watched both the short map and reenactment movie. So much information given in just a short amount of... More

Revolutionary War battlefield. We were there in January for the reinactment of the battle. Nicely done. At other times of the year this is a pleasant place to stroll the battlefield. There are usually fireworks around the 4th of July.

I just returned from visiting Cowpen's Battlefield and have to say it was well worth the 3 hour drive. The way the site is laid out makes it very easy for one to see and understand how the battle played out. The staff is going to great lenghts to restore the area to the way it would have appeared in... More

I stopped at Cowpens National Battlefield in conjunction with Kings Mountain and Ninety Six National Historic Site. The visitor center and Park Rangers set the tone of what this Battlefield was all about. The Park Rangers were knowledgeable and entertaining. Like all Battlefields, watch the movie! it will give you an idea of what happened here. There is a driving... More
