Once a source of borax and known to most of us during the starting of the teams that moved west to live and find a new life. This exhibit and walk was interesting to see and read about.

We drove in the dirt road and didn't find anything to see at all, finally joined back to the main road. Be careful and make sure you a map/GPS since you might get lost easily.

The drive through Twenty Mule Team Canyon was interesting enough in a kind of winding through the canyons sort of way. But to be honest, you can appreciate the scenery just as well from other view points.

If you have ever wondered how it feels to be an ant, this is a great spot to experience the overwhelming sense of being very small! The rock walls tower around you as you edge carefully through this winding canyon - some tricky slopes require a 4WD and confident driving.

Easy drive and short walk up wash to see mounds and hills leading to Monte Blanco. Some spots of what appear to be pure borax. Other canyons in the are are more impressive.

We were returning from Dante's and saw this detour (exit actually seen first). It was a great trail that was very accessible. No one was anywhere around. I wish we had had time to hike, all we got to do was drive it. As another said the badlands are truly different almost lunar because there is no plant life as... More

If you are leaving Death Valley headed east on US 190 or if you are just entering, this is an exciting - looks other worldly - drive. Once entering the canyon you are surrounded by yellow furnace creek badland formations. There is an OMG moment toward the end at which you look over the hood of the car and realize... More

This was my favorite spot. A challenging short one way loop with a rental car but worth it. Unique colors and rock formations up close and personal.

A great little side road, fine in a standard car or minivan. Beautiful views in the afternoon light.

A nice short drive on the dirt road. Nice up close views of the badlands. Going near the end of the day puts a nice glow on the rocks from the setting sun. I'd recommend planning to visit shortly before sunset and then watching the sun set at Zabriske point.
