Its a long drive from San Francisco but well worth the effort for a varied week of snowboarding with reasonable runs for all level of skill and great terrain parks

As always, Mammoth Mountain leaves up to my expectations. Almost always good skying and plenty of sunshine, in reach, good infrastructure and plenty of auxiliary resources around the area. Love it.

Skiing Mammoth is a highlight each ski season. Different terrains for all types of skiers and boarders. The resort is so large that you ski different areas all the time and never feel over population. Each time you ski it, it's more enjoyable than the last.

This is an evergreen memory and my first visit to the Mammoth springs and mountains on July 4th week end of 2011. The summer at it's top the ice starts melting from the mountains to descend as beautiful water falls. Lushy green creeks and waterfalls are total fun to relish. The 7 lakes is a loop of vista and view... More

Great steeps and deeps all serviced by high speed detachables or the gondola. If you are intermediate and want to do a bowl, the backside serviced by Chairs 13 and 14 will let you have the experience. If you are a strong intermediate, wait until they winch-cat groom Cornice bowl and take chair 23 up - you will be on... More

If you are expecting Vail/Aspen/Breckenridge etc., you are going to be disappointed. Mammoth seems like "the place the locals ski" and the locals are mostly from LA, OC and SD. The Village is trying for a world class feel and it is beautiful, but there just isn't a buzz - not enough people around. The "locals" rent condos or stay... More

Snowed while we were visiting and the area was beautiful. The streets are constantly groomed and kept clean. The restaurants, and stores are all fun. Didn't get to ski, but the mountain was packed. Great place to visit not only in the winter but for the summer months as well. Heard the fishing is fantastic, and there is also mountain... More
