Visisted July 21, 2009, but only visisted trading post outside entrance. We did not care to pay and walk around. We had stopped along the road to get a picture and then drove to the trading post outside the entrance to get a closer look. It was a little out of the way, but it was worth it so the... more

This is one of those places you see in pictures or on TV and say to yourself that it looks mildly interesting, maybe worth a pit-stop on a road trip. And then you see it in person and your jaw drops. My wife and I drove to the tower from the Black Hills the back way (via Belle Fourche), which... more

Devils Tower is worth seeing if you never seen a volcano before. There is a hill to climb, but there are benches to sit at to rest. It is amazing that this once was active. You can get really close to the tower and if you bring your climbing gear you can climb this tower. You can walk around this... more

This was not on my list of "must sees" but it was for my husband. However, after being there, I want to go back and spend some more time there. It was fantastic!! Driving there all of a sudden it is just there, in the middle of nowhere this gorgeous site arises out of nowhere. W more

Totally impressive and a must see. There are numerous trails to walk around with the smallest about 2km - 1.3 miles. Doesn't matter which way you approach by driving, about 10-15 miles out, you just see this 'thing' standing there on the horizion and want to photo opt it. Believe me, better pics occur the closer you get.. Since it's... more

WOW - on the way through Wyoming we were trying to decide whether or not we wanted to take the extra little jaunt off the main road to go and see this rock? Well we decided that we better as long as we were there and had the time, otherwise who knows when we would be back... Well on the... more

This is a must see! Breath taking to watch the very brave that were actually climbing the tower! Beautiful views, nice walk around the entire area. Lots of places to just stop and rest to take in the view. Bring good walking shoes, binoculars and a camera! The folk tales on how it was formed are very interesting. Well worth... more

We drove from the Spearfish area to Devil's Tower, while on vacation in the area. The weather was really nice and we both really loved all the hills and trees and ranchland in the surrounding area. The Tower was fun to see and having the loop trail with interpretive info was nice. It was really a peaceful place (we went... more

We drove to the visitor's center and spent about an hour walking around and taking pictures of the monument. It was difficult to photograph since we were so close. I think that we would have taken better pictures if we weren't at the site. We had good photos from our campsite. [ SIDENOTE: I highly recommend the KOA. It's the... more
