When visiting Whidbey Island, Fort Ebey is a must. I spend some time walking along the beach and the dunes and in the forest and just enjoying the beautiful scenery. Lots of picinc areas so you can well spend a whole day or even longer. Gorgeous! more
We hiked the bluff trail and saw absolutely awesome views of the Strait and Olympic mountain range. Then we hiked most of the interior "kettles" trails which were even more fascinating than the bluff trails. There is something for everyone, including mountain biking and horse trails. You can hike all day and weave though different trails and distinctly different environments... more
This place is gorgeous, even on a wet winter day! Be sure to take the time to walk around the hillside Sunnyside Cemetery near there too. It's full of pioneer and Indian history, and quite beautiful. Here's their link: http://www.sunnysidecemetery.org/ more
