Take the kids, but not toddlers. Good lesson in history and a easy day out for fun. Fort Casey is a favorite I visit often on a nice day every year, views, grass, great parking, NICE drive to Whidbey Island. Fairly easy venture out for almost everyone!

The lighthouse and museum inside are worth a visit and the gun emplacements are very interesting. But there's now a $10 per vehicle per day charge so it costs a lot for a half-hour visit. I used to take all my out-of-town visitors there, but we don't go there any more.

EVERYTHING, that's why we moved here, the RV park at fort Casey is on the inlet with awesome views and water dynamics, Ebey's landing about 3 miles from there is unbelievable, prairie view park is great to reflect or take pix, all the beaches are accessible, deception pass is beyond great, Kayaking in Coupeville (rentals also), toby's KIM's out on... If you spend time in one state park on Whidbey Island, this one should be it. It's possible to go into the abandoned gun emplacement bunkers and also the Admiralty Head Lighthouse (at least on weekends). The lighthouse has a small historical display presided over by knowledgeable volunteer docents and a staircase up to the lighthouse tower. Regardless of whether... More

Lots of old cement buildings to play on, beautiful beaches, and a great place for a picnic and some family fun.

Lighthouse is great to see, but the actual gun emplacements are awsome. Try to go when the guides are there. look online.,

There is a bit of everything. The views are spectacular, lighthouse staff is knowledgable and friendly, the fort is fun to explore. You are likely to spot deer grazing and eagles soaring. It tends to be windy so come prepared. I am a local photographer and this is one of my favorite places to visit on photo shoots.

Interesting enough for adults, and open enough for the kids to run around. There is a nice big open field to fly a kite or have a picnic.

We went no knowing what to expect--this place was so cool. It was really neat to walk around the bunkers, climb up the big canons, and the views were amazing.
