My wife and I wanted to take the elevator up to see the Penn Tower. We went ro room 121 to get the tickets (we read that they were free but found out that they were $10 a piece). If you look for free things to do in Philadelphia, City Hall pops up. City Hall's website itself says that "All tours are FREE!" Unfortunately, however, the website is two years out of date, and admission fees are required to tour the building. As a student, the fee was $8 for the whole tour or $4 for just a trip... more

I was visiting from California and I set aside one day to visit Philadelphia. I called the visitor center to get information ahead of time and they offered very little input. The best way to visit City Hall would be join the guided tour provided by the City Hall every WEEKDAY at 12:30pm gathered at the tour office, room 121 at the East side entrance of the City Hall. This tour is about one and half hour that shows all the government offices and also take the elevator all the way... more
