This museum is not well known - many people who live here have never been nor heard of it, but the permanent collections of antiquities is unrivaled in the city. Just the mummies are reason enough to visit. They have great traveling exhibits, too, on local archeology as well as global items. You should not miss this. more

Although the antiquities in the Penn Museum don't rival those of the Met in New York, this is one of the finest museums of its type and it's amazing that one school has this nice a collection.
