Fine ARts museum-lovers should not miss this. It has wonderful collections (most of them assembled in the 1800's, when Philly ruled), well-displayed...best of all, it is never crowded and you can get nose-to-nose with the objects. Serene, rich, and not to be missed.
We visited during a great Van Gogh exhibit but the time before there was only a pretty good Ben Franklin exhibit and to my untutored eye the museum is not as top heavy with masterpieces as you would expect from such a distinguished City.
