Main st. is different to the rst of the area which is pretty run down. Many good restaurants for all tastes, and nice to sit outside and watch people going by. Restaurants are pet friendly and food is good though not cheap. I enjoy this area

Main Street in Manayunk is nice to stroll on during the day, has some good restaurants to eat at for lunch or dinner and some great bars for nighttime.

Manayunk has many charms... good shops, notable restaurants, lively pubs, scenic views of the Schuylkill River, and of course, the famous bicycle race. What it lacks is parking. This has been a problem forever and while there have been some improvements, it remains a major deterrent to visitors.

Glad we stopped in Manayunk to have lunch at Couch Tomato Cafe on our way out of Philadelphia. Main street is active with trendy shops and many great restaurants with sidewalk seating. Lots of young people. Parking was tight so we parked by the water off Main Street in a paid lot.

This is a center city away from center city. So many trendy places to go, all within blocks of each other. It can get pricey, but you'll love the quality

There are many great restaurants popping up on Main Street, as well as cute shops. I have lived here for 6 years and cannot believe the transformation - it's very exciting. There is FIre and Ice in February, Second Saturdays in the spring and summer for great food and live music, Arts Fest and Bike Race in June. Come and... More

This hilly section of Philadelphia is a real hot spot. You get plenty of exercise walking or biking up the hills and lots of enjoyment in the splendid restaurants and bars and fine shops. There are plenty of artists and galleries in this part of town as well. And it is pretty safe or at least safer than many areas of... More

An upscale place to walk, filled with a variety of restaurants, eclectic shops, etc. There are often festivals on Main Street and the vendors sell things from tables on the sidewalks, serve food outside.
