Small but powerful for all ages. Great location in Olde City and well worth taking the time to explore all the galleries and see the awesome glass collection.

Not what I expected at all. Inspiring details of "heroes" interspersed with glass sculpture. Very very large Dale Chihuly glass piece in the gift shop. Glad I went, wouldn't make a special trip to see, but might go again if I was in the city.
PS. Photos at the top as I write this review are of the Liberty Bell....

We thought the exhibits were outstanding and the best museum we saw in Philadelphia. While there a group of junior high students were touring and we listened to the guide who kept us and them in raptures with his description. This is an educational experience not a museum where one views art or objects.
I have to agree with an earlier reviewer that this museum is not "typical". Unfortunately, I really like most museums, so my tastes tend to run toward the "typical" I suppose. First for the pros--definitely not crowded on a Sunday when I visited. Granted it was December, but I was literally the only person in the place for a solid...

I don't know what's in the museum because after driving for over an hour to get there I found it closed for some kind of "event". This was not announced on the web site, which I had checked before setting out. So if you don't mind taking your chances, I suppose this museum might be worth a visit.
We escaped the hot temperatures of a July day and found ourselves overhwelmed by the great exhibits in this museum. There are lots of video interactive productions that will keep your kids quite engaged. They learned a lot more about the Constitution as well as all the ammendments at this Museum. It is well worth your time during your trip...

They should call this "International Liberty Museum" since it focuses more on International cultures than truly American culture. If you buy into the whole 9/11 propaganda you might find it interesting though.
We were amazed to find a museum dedicated to peace, conflict resolution and the elimination of oppression of every kind. The focus was world-wide: there was a very moving tribute to victims and survivors of 9/11, an entire room devoted to honoring people from around the globe who have fought oppression, and a wonderfully diverse offering of installation art dedicated...

This museum is very impressive. It has a number of collections over its 4 floors. I've been 3 times, as the first time I only allowed myself an hour and that was not enough to get through the interesting exhibits. I went back the 2nd time to see the rest of the musuem and then finally, the 3rd time I...

I have lived in Philadelphia area 17 years and never really heard about this museum (it is not the Liberty Bell museum), so we were very pleasantly surprised when we stumbled upon it yesterday. This museum promotes freedom and diversity. It is very open minded and forward thinking. It advocates against violence and discrimination. It has thought-provoking exhibits about religion,...
