the battlefields are very affecting & the visitors center is full of interesting info & artifacts
Purchased the DVD and mentiond that it would take approx 2 to 2.5 hours to tour the park by car. If you are the least bit interested in the Civil war plan on a day. The park rangers have some very interesting stories to highlight the DVD. Get out of your vehicle envision yourself on the battle field with bullets,...

Lots of area to cover & many nooks & crannies to see. Bring good walking shoes even if you drive the route because you park in a designated lot and walk the specific battle field of your choice

The park is very well maintained and historically accurate as possible. The battle field looks much the same way as it did back in 1863. A moving experience.
If there is oonly one site you check out regarding the civil war than this is the placfe to go to. Make sure you take the ranger guided tour as it is well worth it. Not much else to say as the numerous other reviews here say it all.

It all begins with a visit to their newer Visitor Center and is substantiated with a visit to the large...

We should have been prepared for the fact that the entire town is the battlefield and that...
