Really glad our family decided to go to the Gettysburg Museum of History on our latest trip-- impressive collection of US & world history photos, artifacts, etc from all presidents to epic battles to US culture/entertainment. Great for kids - my 5 & 8 year old sons were loving it! Don't miss this place on your next trip to Gettysburg!!

Seriously!! This place has the most interesting collection of relics and artifacts and photographs and manuscripts I've seen in a super long time. Go to this place. Why aren't you there yet? This is the best free thing to do in Gettysburg. You could spend an afternoon here just looking at all the stuff, not only Civil War stuff but all kinds of things to go gaga over

Before visiting the battle field, you must go to the museum first. Makes it easier to understand the locations where the battles initiated.

The features and layout were excellent. Could be more interactive, and it doesn't handle crowds all that well. But the info and displays were top-rate.

Based on reviews, I was determined to visit this FREE museum. It was closed the first time we tried (they were filming for a TV show in there). Undeterred, we tried again the next day. LOVED it Small in area (4 or 5 rooms), but chock full of interesting and unique things. Not just Civil War stuff.........Elvis, Marilyn Munroe, JFK.... More
