Furnishings are amazing and the details are jaw dropping. If you have any interest in history or architecture, this is a must see. The tour piqued our interest in reading more about Frederick &...

Unbridled opulence -- go to see how the top 1% of America lived before the income tax spread the wealth around. The transom roof and some fine pcs of furniture. The views from the back lawn are pretty. There is a short hike to FDR Home as well.
great tour, great house, even on a rainy day! Small charge and close to the Roosevelt mansion
Coming from Rhode Island and touring the Vanderbilt Mansion there it was very interesting to learn about other family members. It was heartwarming to learn about how well the treated their staff and community.
Went with my fiancee and we toured the mansion. We had a wonderful, informative tour guide. Before and after the tour we took a walk around the grounds. The Perennial Garden is definitely worth visiting. If you enjoy taking photos, make sure to visit "barefoot Kate" and her pond.
If you enjoy history you will like touring the Vanderbilt Mansion. Fascinating to see how the very wealthy lived.
