I was in the area for a wedding and was told this stop was a MUST. I made a reservation for 10:00 and had the most wonderful tour guide. For $5.00, what a deal! While no official tasting is part of the tour, twice students came out with things for us to sample. The guide is also a student and... more

I am a local and cannot recommend the CIA enough. If you are in the Hudson Valley be sure to take a tour. Try to make reservations for one of the restaurants--weekends require reservations months in advance. I have eaten at all the restaurants and have never been disappointed. Both the food and the students are wonderful. If you can't... more

If you are anywhere near the Hyde Park area be sure to make reservations to eat at one or more of the CIA's outstanding restaurants. The students do an outstanding job of explaining the prep and ingredients of your menu and of course the food is first rate. Stop by the Apple Pie Bakery for breakfast, lunch and/or take-out as... more

Enjoyed the tour ($5; Monday-Thursday only) at 4 PM, then had the early 6 PM dining reservation (American Bounty). Place is bustling everywhere with freshly scrubbed young faces getting an education. Here non-conformity is not allowed- there is a protocol of dress, etc., much of it needed for sanitation reasons i presume and tradition in the industry. A clean cook... more

The campus was beautiful- really breathtaking. We took the tour, it was well worth the $5.00. We had coffee and dessert in the Apple Pie Cafe. The cookies and muffins I took home were delicious. The next time we'll make a reservation at one of the restaurants for lunch. Outstanding, I can't say enough good things about the CIA. more

We only had a limited amount of time there, but the scenery was beautiful of the river and beyond. The grounds were very nice as well. I only was able to visit the main building, and it was a Friday, they were having a graduation ceremony, I got the idea from the brochure that they have a lot of them... more

This was amazing. We had a snack at the Apple Pie Café before going on a tour. It was sooo good we stopped the next morning to get snacks for the road. Everything is so pretty it was almost too hard to eat. I called the morning we wanted a tour and had no problem getting in. Check the website... more

It is so interesting to watch all the many students while they stive, and usually achieve, culinary excellence. The price is reasonable and the setting is beautifu. Take the time to make the... more

With all the cooking shows and reality shows on TV, I could not wait to visit the CIA. i was not disappointed. I had lunch at the Apple Pie Cafe (only place open at the time, besides I wasn't quite dressed for the other restaurants). The Reuben was superb. I took a tour afterwards that was quite interesting as you... more
