Stunning monument overlooking St. Johns River giving tribute to Jean Ribault and his proclaiming land for France. Monument is a replica. Great stop for history buffs. half mile away from Fort Caroline.

Good river view, including old channel behind Blount Island. The site worked well for a marine band radio facility to contact units in Fernandina, Atlantic Beach and NAS Jacksonville.

This is exactly what it says - a monument. You'll read a short description of it and then get back in the car and leave. If you are a history buff or in the area (say, going to visit Fort Caroline which is a little more interesting) then it is easy to swing by but I wouldn't go out of...
