This is a wonderful place to hike, see native plants and cacti and just enjoy the scenery. They have a nice gift shop and the folks are very helpful.
A rolling expanse of grasslands and rocks. The center has displays of desert gardens and cactus. Also a number of hiking trails. A nice diversion from the more popular tourist sites in the area.
This is definitely worth a few hours. Wonderful facility. Don't be fooled by the seemingly simple entrance and building. Very scenic, hundreds of unusual cactus and other plants, good walking trails. Just off the main highway south of Fort Davis. Inexpensive admission charge, nice gift shop, friendly staff.

In hindsight, it was a good thing, I don't... More
We have been to the Nature Center twice now and each time we have really enjoyed the walking trails. There are trails suitable for small children and those who are a bit mobility impaired, and there are trails for the more adventurous. There always seem to be hummingbirds, butterflies and a variety of small lizards and birds to see, as... More
