This is a really fun, quircky museum that is a welcome departure from some of the stuffier "traditional" museums. Much of the art is produced by self-taught artists using all sorts of mediums. Very fun place to spend a few hours.

Quite different from other art museums. Every space has something different. Enjoyed the biographies of the artists. The gift shop was a pleasant adventure too as I bought some unique jewelry.

The American Visionary Art Museum is a must see experience! The gift shop is awesome, with unusual merchandise and art from all over the world. Check out the July 4th Pet Parade and the Kinetic Sculpture Race too!

This is one of the most unique museums I've been to! It was so interesting to see exhibits by artists who aren't as well known and/or technically trained. I saw a range of art, from just gorgeous to thought-provoking pieces. Also, they have the best museum gift shop I'd ever been to! If you're in Baltimore, go visit!
