I think this was one of the highlights of the trip for me. The cemetery is gorgeous, the tombstones are extravagent, the atmosphere is peaceful. We took a taxi from downtown (approx $15) and were very glad we did. Make it a point to see this place during your visit to Savannah. more

We toured Bonaventure on our way back to Atl. from Tybee. It's beautful yet a little creepy at the same time. It's amazing the time and expense people go to in order to pay homage to thier disceased loved ones. I would love to take a history tour of Bonaventure on our next trip. more

Bonaventure is quite serene with its stone gardens and trees dripping with Spanish moss. This is actually a beautiful place. There are plenty of trees and beautiful statues and monuments. The staff has this thing down to a science. Definitely stop in at the office and get a map. This cemetery is a must see. It's the place the dearly departed would want to spend all eternity. Quiet, peaceful and surrounded by beauty. The azaleas, and spanish moss add to the essence of it's natural beauty. Featured in Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Must spend some time here! more
